Not a snow squall this time — winter storm set to hit La Crosse area, beginning Monday
A couple days after the “snow squall,” a winter storm is set to hit the La Crosse area.
The National Weather Service — La Crosse says “a prolonged winter storm will impact the area Monday and Tuesday.”
Things could start as early as Monday morning in western Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota, potentially affecting the commuters.
“This wintry mix will shift south throughout the day, affecting parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin (on) Monday afternoon through Tuesday,” the Weather Service posted. “Highest ice accumulations will be possible across northeast Iowa, southwest Wisconsin, and parts of southeast Minnesota. Even a light glaze of ice can create hazardous travel conditions! Highest snowfall amounts will occur Tuesday afternoon in north-central Wisconsin before the storm departs Tuesday night.”
