Jackson County driver suspected of operating drunk for 8th time

A man pulled over for an equipment issue was caught driving drunk in Black River Falls Saturday night.

John Whitewater of Black River reportedly will be charged with 8th OWI offense.

The 55-year-old was stopped by a state trooper at an I-94 exit ramp. He was given sobriety tests before being taken to jail.

According to state court records, Whitewater’s last OWI conviction in Wisconsin happened nine years ago, also in Jackson County.
