One incumbent defeated in city of Onalaska council race; Rieber, Wuensch win Holmen school board battle

The city of Onalaska had two contested council seats and a school board election on Tuesday’s ballot.
Only one of the council incumbents won re-election.
That was Diane Wulf, defeating Bob Muth 564-245 in District 2.
In District 1, Leanne Stokes won with 61.9% of the vote over Jim Olson 597-364.
As for the school board, four were on the ballot for three seats. This is how that race ended up:
- Ann Garrity 1,674 votes (31.8%)
- Shawn McAlister 1,381 (26.2%)
- Brian Haefs 1,333 (25.3%)
- Erik Archer 856 (16.2%)
The Holmen School Board race had four on the ballot with two getting elected by about 3% points each in Rebecca Rieber and Barbara Wuensch. Here’s how that race turned out:
- Rebecca Rieber 2,484 votes (26.4%)
- Barbara Wuensch 2,470 (26.2%)
- Josh Neumann 2,245 (23.9%)
- Chad Updike 2,202 (23.4%)
