Not guilty plea from La Crosse man heard firing gun on school property
A La Crosse man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of firing shots into the air at different areas around the city.
Deantre Bell was arrested after early-morning gunfire late in March around the Viterbo University campus and Lincoln Middle School. Nobody was hurt by the gunshots.
The 21-year-old is charged with five counts, including firing a gun in a school zone and carrying a concealed weapon into downtown bars.
He was given a signature bond, and is ordered not to have firearms, and to stay away from the Viterbo area.
