Anderson found guilty of homicide in Tomah child abuse death

A guilty verdict has been reached in a Monroe County murder trial.

Jurors have convicted Marcus Anderson of Tomah in the abuse-related death of 3-year-old Kyson Rice in 2019.  Anderson was found guilty of 11 out of 16 charges against him, including homicide.

The boy was found to have multiple injuries, which Anderson claimed were accidental.  A sentencing date will be scheduled.  

Anderson was on trial for counts including bodily harm from child abuse, and drug-related charges.  His trial in Sparta started two weeks ago, and was recessed for several days when the judge became ill.
