Two-hour parking limits will be removed on part of one La Crosse block near Aquinas High School.

The city board of public works has voted to end the 2-hour limit on the west side of the 300 block of South 11th Street, on the opposite side of the street from Aquinas.

Neighbors representing more than 80 per cent of the footage on that side of the block requested an end to the 2-hour parking, to allow more students to park near the school.

There were objections from neighbors voiced at the meeting on Monday, with the argument that off-street parking lots already exist near Aquinas.
