A few weeks ago, the big announcement was that after 16 years, Gundersen’s Steppin’ Out In Pink fundraiser will be in Riverside Park in 2022. This week, early bird registration kicks off for the event.

Early bird registration is on through the end of June. Right now, participants will receive their T-shirt and registration for only $20.

Tia Sneath, Special Events Program Coordinator for Gundersen Health System, says saving money isn’t the only reason for Early Bird registration. “We have over 4,000 people come every single year so you want to make sure that you secure a t-shirt right away and it gives you plenty of time to fundraise.”

Mid-West Family La Crosse is proud to help sponsor the event, embarking on the 17th year of raising money for local breast cancer research and other breast cancer initiatives at Gundersen Health System.

Sneath says the funds support their research lab with breast cancer research, patient support programs and offset costs of mammograms for those who are underinsured. Their 2022 goal is $300,000.

At the event, there will be live music, DJ entertainment from Mid-West Family, and a vendor market. Sneath told Z93 they expect about 50 vendors in 2022. Interested vendors can apply online here.

For those that cannot attend the event, or those living out of the area, there will be a virtual option again this year.

Sneath also said the event is looking for volunteers as well. Community members helping at Steppin’ Out in Pink receive a free shirt and can register here.
