La Crosse area gas prices among lowest in Wisconsin now, under $4.50 a gallon

Five of the 10 lowest gas prices in Wisconsin right now can be found in La Crosse County, according to new figures from the Gas Buddy web page. 

Although the pump price at several stations in La Crosse is over $4.50 a gallon, the second-lowest price in the state is $4.44 in Onalaska and West Salem. 

The only station with cheaper gas is in the Appleton area, which listed a pump price of $4.39.

The lowest gas price in southeast Minnesota listed on Gas Buddy was $4.47 a gallon at a station in Harmony.

Gas prices continue to climb as La Crosse introduces electric buses to its MTU fleet, and city leaders propose a halt to exploration for new sources of fossil fuels.
