Bond for La Crosse drug suspect lowered to $250,000
A million-dollar cash bond for a La Crosse man accused of making and selling phony drugs apparently was too much to fit the crime.
Judge Elliott Levine has lowered the bond for Jade Deeny by 75 per cent. Deeny now needs $250,000 cash to get out of jail.
Deeny pled not guilty on Thursday to over 20 criminal counts, mostly involving drug dealing and owning weapons.
Police say Deeny had a million dollars worth of drugs at his house and in a Rose Street storage unit when he was arrested. Investigators also say Deeny was involved in the events that led to a recent murder in La Crosse.
Deeny, also known as “Justice,” is accused of selling drugs to police, and of producing fake Xanax pills in a storage shed which he would sell through the mail.
Deeny’s attorney Christopher Zachar argued for a reduced bond, saying a million dollars was “way too high” for an unemployed person, and claimed his client was being unfairly compared to the drug lord El Chapo.
Prosecutors say Deeny has made thousands of pills which could contain the deadly fentanyl.

I was at the preliminary hearing and they stated all of the pills are fake and it was only in reality less than $100,000 worth of drugs. Also the detective lied blatantly under oath on the stand.
