A Monroe County judge is scheduled to sentence Marcus Anderson of Tomah on Wednesday morning, for causing the death of a toddler three years ago.

Anderson was convicted at an April jury trial on 11 of 16 criminal counts, including first-degree murder, related to the death of 3-year-old Kyson Rice.

Investigators found that the boy had almost 200 injuries to his body when he died in Anderson’s care in 2019.

Anderson claimed the injuries were accidental, and he was criticized for delaying a call to 9-1-1 to help the child.
