Irishfest ready to bring out the green in La Crosse in early August
The next big annual festival on the calendar in La Crosse is just two weeks away.
Irishfest opens on August 12th, for its 17th year. The event at the southside festgrounds will last three days, preceded by a Thursday night Moon Tunes concert at Riverside Park devoted to Irish music.
Besides entertainment, Irishfest will also feature cultural attractions, and this year, one new event will be a tug-of-war competition.
The Irish music will include performers on the harp, and the banjo. We Banjo 3 and Boxing Banjo are among the musicians, along with the Harp Twins and Irishfest favorites Gaelic Storm.
The gates to the festgrounds will open Friday, August 12th at 4 p.m., and then 11 a.m. that Saturday and Sunday.
