LA CROSSE TALK PM: La Crosse County sheriff candidate Marte Peterson
Marte Peterson, who is running for sheriff in La Crosse County, joined La Crosse Talk PM on Monday.
La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:07 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska)
Peterson is one of two Republican candidates on the ballot looking to replace the retiring Jeff Wolf.
The primary voting period ends Aug. 9.
We discussed everything from the responsibilities within a sheriff’s office to mental health to Peterson’s experiences that he believes will make him a good sheriff.
We did not throw the other candidates under the bus, however, because that would make going to work the next day awkward, since they all work withing the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office.
Fritz Leinfelder is the other GOP candidate in the race. He will be on the show Wednesday. John Siegel is also running for sheriff as the only Democratic candidate, therefore isn’t in a primary race.
