Emergency responders in the La Crosse area will be getting more than $2 million in government grants.

The three lawmakers in the 32nd Senate District–Brad Pfaff, Steve Doyle, and Jill Billings–all voiced support for the new EMS funding at a La Crosse news conference on Friday.

The local grants range from $21,000 for Gundersen helicopters, to $120,000 to Tri-State Ambulance.

The legislators say state funding for emergency service has increased sharply during the term of Governor Tony Evers.

“EMS providers throughout western Wisconsin help keep our communities safe and provide life-saving care to citizens in need,” Sen. Pfaff said in a statement. “This funding will be an important resource as first responders throughout our area continue their life-saving work.”
