AG Kaul endorsed by La Crosse mayor, county DA

Wisconsin’s attorney general picks up some endorsements in La Crosse County.  Democrat Josh Kaul was joined on a campaign visit to the La Crosse Courthouse on Friday by La Crosse Mayor Mitch Reynolds and district attorney Tim Gruenke.

Reynolds says Kaul supports an increase of shared revenue from the state for local law enforcement, which needs to meet rising expenses.

Gruenke says Kaul is focused on “the right things,” such as higher wages to attract more prosecutors.  The DA criticizes Kaul’s Republican challenger, Eric Toney, for suggesting that counties try to prosecute Wisconsin doctors who perform abortions.

Kaul argues against the plan, because voters in one county don’t choose district attorneys for another county.
