As I See It
The $2 daydream
Many of us have a lot on our minds lately. Most probably aren’t good thoughts. Worry about inflation and the economy and tiredness from all the politics can be consuming and exhausting. Sometimes all you need is something positive to think about, like becoming a billionaire. That always brings a smile. Lots of people are taking their shot at a $1.5 billion jackpot in Saturday’s Powerball drawing. Most don’t expect to win. But it is fun to take a minute to ponder the answer to the question, “What would you do if you won?” You may find yourself fantasizing about a tropical beach and an umbrella drink, or never having to work again. That little “What if” moment seems to be worth two bucks. I mean, isn’t that what we’re buying when we plunk down money for lottery tickets? We’re buying a chance at the dream. Someone has to win right? Eventually, but there have been some 40 drawings since the last winner, and this could end up being the biggest lottery jackpot in U.S. history. If someone does win, they have some numbers other than the lottery balls to consider. They will need to decide if the want the annuity or cash option. But as one financial expert points out, when you come in to that kind of money, there is no wrong answer. So good luck, even if your two dollars only buys you a brief daydream.

I would buy WIZM and put Scott Robert Democ-rat out of work if I hit the Powerball!
