Where are the moderate candidates?

So here we are, on the verge of another election. We will find out tomorrow if voters prefer the democratic or republican candidates. But why aren’t there more choices? Instead we have to pick from one or the other. Most people are certain who they will vote for, but rarely do we feel passionately about the candidates. It seems it is always the lesser of two evils that gets our vote. Meanwhile, the parties have gotten more and more extreme, making their stances on the issues even less like how we feel about those issues. Most people are for the most part moderates. Where is that choice on the ballot? Who can we vote for if we are moderates on the major issues? Where is the candidate concerned about climate change, but isn’t ready to demand we go electric? Where is the candidate who favors a sensible economic plan that doesn’t just favor the rich and eliminate social programs or taxing the rich to give it to the poor? There just isn’t a moderate party, or many moderate candidates. But wouldn’t it be refreshing if when casting our ballots tomorrow we could feel good about voting for someone we really liked, rather than against someone we don’t?
