The front door of a Rose Street motel in La Crosse was the scene of an early Wednesday morning fire.

La Crosse Fire Chief Jeff Schott will be on La Crosse Talk PM at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Fire crews were able to extinguish flames quickly at America’s Best Value Inn, north of Bridgeview Plaza. There was a partial evacuation of the building but nobody was hurt.

Investigators haven’t figured out how the fire started. This is the third fire reported to the La Crosse fire department so far this week.

Flames were reported around 6 a.m. in the entryway of the motel, between Walgreen and Kwik Trip.

Fire officials credited employees of the Kwik Trip for calling 911 to report the fire and for reportedly using a fire extinguisher at the scene before crews arrived.
