La Crosse native Jordan Davis is averaging 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds during the six-game win streak by the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team.

Davis is shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc during that span — a vast improvement over his season averages (42.2% and 34% shooting).

The Badgers won five of those six games at the Kohl Center. Now, however, they head to Illinois (9-5), which is 3-4 in its last seven games, after opening the season 6-1.

Davis is two games removed from a career-high 14 points in a 78-56 win over Lehigh, when he also hit a career-best 4 of 6 from beyond the arc.

Tip is at 12:30 p.m. Saturday between the Badgers and Illinois, and can be seen on ESPN2.
