Body discovered in Monroe County could be that of woman missing for weeks

Investigators in Monroe County are working to identify a woman’s body found Wednesday in the La Grange area.

The body may be that of 50-year-old Felicia Wanna, who has been the object of a search in the region for about two weeks.

Several state and local agencies and the Ho Chunk Police have been assisting in the search.

Wanna is thought to have been in La Crosse on Jan. 3, and had not been in contact with her family since late December.

The county medical examiner and the state crime lab are taking part in the investigation.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
