La Crosse native Jordan Davis had just three points in 30 minutes, as the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team got destroyed at Maryland 73-55 on Wednesday.

Wisconsin (12-7), which has now lost five of six games, was down just 32-28 at halftime to the Terps (13-7) but a series of scoring droughts in the second half inched the game more and more out of reach. The Badgers scored just six points in the game’s final 9 minutes, 39 seconds.

Davis, who was coming off a career-high 15 points, was 1-for-5 from the field and 1 of 4 from deep. The 6-foot-4 junior had four rebounds, two assists and no turnovers.

Aside from the 15-point effort, Davis has now scored five or less points in his last five games, including going scoreless twice. In those five games, he’s 5-for-20 from the field and 1 of 13 from deep.

This string of five losses in six games began with a 10-point defeat at Illinois on Jan. 10. The Badgers host Illinois (14-6) at 2 p.m. Saturday — a game that will be on FOX.

Maryland has played .500 in its last eight games but is 10-1 at home.
