Wisconsin Supreme Court race could be the most expensive in U.S. history

You no doubt remember the campaign ads for the Wisconsin Senate race between Ron Johnson and Mandela Barnes, but likely not fondly. We were hit over the head with attack ad after attack ad, each more cringe-worthy than the last. Thankfully that race has been settled, but another one is coming, and it could be even more nasty and in your face. The race for an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court is heating up with a primary election next month and the general election in April. It is a high-stakes affair. If a democratic candidate can win in April, liberals would switch the current 4-3 conservative majority to a 4-3 liberal majority. However the court is made up, justices will likely be asked to decide some pretty high-stakes stuff, like abortion rights and election rules, and many other hot-button and divisive issues. That means there will be big money coming from both political parties and by many outside groups with a stake in issue like abortion. Not only are the ads going to be nasty and misleading, they are going to be everywhere. Predictions are this race for the Wisconsin Supreme Court will be the most expensive Supreme Court race in history. Not just in Wisconsin, but the entire nation. Great. Here we go again.
