Several arrest warrants had been issued for Jenkins in recent months. Police say Jenkins had weapons, ammunition, and a ballistic vest at the time of his arrest.

La Crosse Police Chief Shawn Kudron says the community has no tolerance for Jenkins’s “violent and dangerous behavior.”

The police department featured the 28-year-old Jenkins on its Facebook page in December, saying he had nine felony warrants against him at the time and had recently fled officers. The most recent case filed against Jenkins in La Crosse County came last November, for recklessly endangering safety.
