La Crosse School Board candidate Jeff Jackson joined La Crosse Talk PM on Tuesday to discuss past and present referendums, closing Lincoln Middle School, and even some refereeing experience.

La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:06 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.

A lot of the discussion — building maintenance, referendum questions on the ballot, teacher pay, closing Lincoln — centered around how the board and how the district should better engage with the community.

Jackson, whose family is directly impacted by the closing of Lincoln, also discussed the failed plan to build a $194.7 million high school, the upcoming six-year, $60 million operating budget referendum, his experience as a referee, plus what he thinks about the budget talks going through the state Legislature right now.

There are four open seats up for a vote with eight candidates running for La Crosse School Board. Here are the past interviews with them on La Crosse Talk PM:
