Horne named as chief judge for courts in 15 counties of western Wisconsin
The next chief judge of western Wisconsin courts will be from La Crosse County.
The State Supreme Court has appointed Judge Scott Horne to serve as chief judge in the 7th Judicial District, effective in August.
Grant County Judge Robert Van De Hey now holds the chief judge title in the district, but he’s retiring from the bench this summer. As chief judge, Horne will help manage court cases in a 15-county region of Wisconsin.
Horne has been a circuit judge since 2007, following 22 years as La Crosse’s district attorney.
