La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke spent the hour Wednesday on La Crosse Talk PM helping make sense of the bail reform questions on the spring ballot that could change the Wisconsin constitution, as well as other legislation happening, and a racial equity study that was recently reviewed by a county committee.

La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:06 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.

Spent most of the show on bail reform, as lawmakers even just earlier in the day tried to better identify violent crime that will affect the reform, even as voters are already casting ballots on the measure.

We also discussed a racial equity study by the Center for Effective Public Policy that the county’s Criminal Justice Management Council reviewed recently.

Spent the rest of the show with quick hitters on the other legislation going through Madison, including harsher riot penalties, harsher reckless driving penalties and parole transparency
