A slew of career highs for La Crosse native Johnny Davis, including his first-ever 20-point game.

The Washington Wizards rookie didn’t just drop 20 in his second-ever start, but he added five rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks and just one turnover in 37 minutes — the most on the team.

Davis was 9-for-17 from the field, 2 of 5 from deep. It was the 21-year-old’s most field goals made and most shot. He also set career marks for assists, blocks, steals and minutes.

The Wizards lost 140-128 to the Milwaukee Bucks, who have the best record in the NBA.

The performance comes after he started Sunday against the New York Knicks and scored 16.

The Wizards have been ramping up Davis’ minutes of late, since he was brought up from the G-League.

The No. 10 overall pick in the 2022 draft out of Wisconsin has three more opportunties to play, including Wednesday night at Atlanta. He’s then home Friday against Miami and home Sunday versus Houston.
