POLICE: Self-inflicted shooting in Trempealeau kills young man; considered an accident

A 22-year-old man has died in an apparent shooting accident in Trempealeau County.

The sheriff’s office said the man reportedly shot himself by accident, in a business parking lot on Klein Lane in the Town of Trempealeau.

Officers and emergency medical workers went to the scene to help, but the man died at the scene.

The incident happened just after 7 a.m. on Thursday. Investigators are still working on the case and have not released the victim’s name yet.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
