Around 2,600 volunteer to help find missing Winona mother, but search continues
The search continues for Winona native Madeline Kingsbury.
According to Winona Police, about 2,600 people helped search Fillmore and Winona counties for the mother of two, who went missing the morning of March 31, after dropping her 5- and 2-year-old children off at daycare.
Winona Police Chief Tom Williams has called her disappearance “suspicious” and “involuntary.”
The story has now made international news headlines.
Winona Police said Saturday’s turnout helped cover substantially more ground than expected. Police thanked the community for the support, saying it “brings us that much closer to finding her and bringing her home.”
Police added that “targeted searches” will be done as they get “new leads and new search areas.”
Authorities have previously said people in Winona and Fillmore counties, as well as Houston County, should check their properties, as well as cameras from 8 a.m. March 31 through April 1.
Police are searching for where a dark blue Chrysler Town & Country minivan may have been headed.
