A La Farge woman was killed and a man was injured in a collision between their motorcycle and a horse-drawn buggy on Sandhill Road in Vernon County.

On Easter Sunday, Joseph Oium and Kim Oium of La Farge were riding the cycle in the Town of Whitestown, near Ontario when they came upon an approaching buggy in the opposite lane. Sheriff’s officers say the horse became startled by the motorcycle, and crossed the center line, striking the cycle. Both riders on the motorcycle were ejected.

Passenger Kim Oium, 54 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver, 53-year-old Joseph Oium, reported head, back, and hand injuries. Two juveniles riding in the buggy were not hurt.

The accident is still under investigation.

Asking a question about an animal mentioned in the headline is a poor response? It’s a valid question considering they said nothing about it.

My condolences to the family. I hope that peace comes soon ????????
