Search for Winona woman continues, over two weeks after she went missing
Multiple agencies have reported doing targeted searches looking for Winona native Madeline Kingsbury.
The 26-year-old went missing the morning of March 31. Winona Police Chief Tom Williams has called her disappearance “suspicious” and “involuntary.”
A Facebook group set up to coordinate everything, says they’re reconvening at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Riverport Inn’s Reinhard Room to continue the search.
Multiple groups looked for Kingsbury on Friday in the Town of Buffalo, Wis., including a drone team.
Winona County Emergency Management posted that more agencies — from Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota, including a dive team — continued the searched Saturday, but provided no specifics as to where — just random pictures.
A request to landowners continues to search your property and report that search here: search@co.winona.mn.us.
While the search continues, a Winona County District Judge Mary Leahy ruled custody of Kingsbury’s children would not be released to their father.
The 5- and 2-year-old kids would remain in county custody, instead of Adam Fravel, their dad.
Fravel says he has been been cooperating with law enforcement, according to CNN.
Fravel had not had custody of the children prior to Kingsbury’s disappearance and denied involvement.
Fravel said he has been advised by law enforcement not to attend news conferences or help with searches.
A Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension spokesperson, however, told CNN they were not aware of any law enforcement agencies advising Fravel not to attend news conferences or organized searches for Kingsbury.
Last weekend, about 2,600 people volunteered to help do mass searches for Kingsbury in both Fillmore and Winona counties.
