Kahya Fox, the executive director of Habitat For Humanity La Crosse Area joins La Crosse Talk PM on Monday to discuss housing dilemmas in the area and possible solutions.

La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:06 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.

A lot of this conversation hovers around a questionnaire Habitat put out about housing to La Crosse City Council candidates, of which only two responded.

We discuss the big problems with the area, being landlocked, and not just the lack of homes available, but also the skyrocketing prices of those homes, which directly effects, not just low income people anymore, but middle class.

Prices of homes, rising mortgage rates, number of rentals are some of those factors.

Habitat is also hosting a Neighbors Day this weekend, to help elderly and disabled people — read more and how to sign up here.
