Four new school board members to take office in La Crosse on Monday
When the La Crosse school board meets Monday night, nearly half of the board members will be newly-elected.
Four of the nine board members won their seats in the April 4th election, replacing incumbents who chose not to run again.
Deb Suchla, Scott Neumeister, Jeff Jackson, and Trevor Sprague were all sworn in privately last week, but they will publicly take the oath of office again at this week’s meeting.
Suchla used to serve on the school board for several years, and is making her return now. Neumeister chose to retire from the La Crosse city council in order to run for school board. Nine candidates in all campaigned in the February primary.
The board will also choose new officers for the next 12 months. The La Crosse School District routinely has elections for three board seats every April.
