The public is being asked to attend a workshop Wednesday to discuss the future of Lincoln Middle School in La Crosse, that’s closing in August.

ISG and the school district will host the community workshop from 6-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Lincoln (map).

The School Board voted in January to close Lincoln this summer, saving the district close to $2 million a year.

Information gathered from the workshop will be used to redevelop the property and enhance the surrounding neighborhoods, the district stated.

Options for re-using the century-old school have been discussed, such as converting it to housing.

Neighborhood maps and other information will be on display. Staff will be available to gather comments and answer questions.

For additional information about the visioning project, contact ISG project manager Will Kratt at 608.789.2034 or email Will.Kratt@isginc.com.
