Schedule reductions at the La Crosse Regional Airport have led to lower passenger numbers in recent months, but they’re rising again, as the travel season approaches.

The monthly passenger total has been under 5,000 every month since October, but the 4911 riders reported in March is the highest total during that period.

The last time there were over 6,000 passengers out of La Crosse was March of 2022 — when 6,205 flyers came through LSE.

For the first three months of 2023, the La Crosse Airport counted just over 13,000 passengers on scheduled flights. That’s down from the 17,994 during the same period in ’22.

The total for March was still down 21 percent from a year ago. For all of 2022, LSE had 63,239 passengers, a drop from 81,000 the previous year.
