RUSH Wisconsin West is a premier youth soccer organization in western Wisconsin, playing soccer and training locally in La Crosse, with competitive opportunities, from local to international.

Board President Scott Thesing said the club is currently supporting over 500 kids, coming to La Crosse from 23 plus communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. They have competitive and recreational teams for older kids ages 11 to 18, but also an Academy for younger players, ages 6-10.

“The culture we’ve created here at the club is unique,” Thesing said. “It’s a team environment, but still an individual focus. We want to make sure each player has the right experience, but yet that still fits into the overall team goals as well.”

“Soccer, is why we get together, but we’re really trying to have a culture and a positive experience for kids.” Thesing continued. “We have 11 core values that we’re weaving into our discussions with them and with our trainings as far as accountability, respect, passion, all these things that we talk about, not only from a soccer standpoint, but just in life in general. How can we apply these lessons learned as we’re using soccer as the venue? It’s more than soccer.”

The RUSH Wisconsin West soccer club will hold their tryouts June 5-8 at Fields for Kids. Players ages 8 to 18 will have a chance to show their love of soccer and skill for the game to earn placement on recreational and competitive teams for the 2023-2024 season.

High school girls tryouts are June 12 & 13. Thesing explained “high school girls are currently in season so we scheduled those trials after that date.”

Preregistration is strongly encouraged with early bird pricing running through May 29th.

More information on the club and registration can be found on their website.
