The attorney for a La Crosse murder suspect says there could be a plea agreement soon to avoid a trial this summer.

Attorney Andrew Martinez appeared in court Tuesday with his client, Sage Hicke, who was recently facing new charges in Juneau County.

Martinez said in court that those charges will not be filed.

Hicke is scheduled to be tried in July for the 2022 shootings of Storm Vondrashek and Jackson Greengrass, outside a 7th Street apartment building in La Crosse.

Hicke claims it was self defense, because the victims were coming after him. Vondrashek died and Greengrass was wounded.

La Crosse County Judge Elliott Levine warned Hicke to be at home and stay out of trouble before his trial to avoid violating his bond.
