Artspire celebrates 10 years in downtown La Crosse on Saturday
The community event is a free, family-friendly Arts Festival in and around the Pump House with live music, interactive arts, food, and beverages.
A decade celebrating the arts happens in La Crosse on Saturday.
The 10th Annual Artspire will be held from 10 am-10 pm in and around The Pump House in downtown La Crosse.
Artspire is a one-day event with music and performances, a Fine Art Fair & Sale, interactive arts, food trucks and Beer garden, and great company from community members.
Artspire is free to all – no ticket needed.
Pump House executive director Allison Krzych told WIZM’s Mike Hayes that Chalkfest is back this year, featuring three artists working on a chalk piece in the street.
There will be interactive arts, with many local non-profits setting up booths with activities for all ages. This year, to celebrate their 10th Anniversary, Artspire will be giving away past T-shirts for attendees to Tie Dye and take home.
This year’s Fine Art Fair & Sale will feature 50 regional artists from Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota with a top prize of $1,000 to the winner of the Altra Artist’s Award.
Live entertainment begins at 10 a.m. with performances throughout the day, headlined by St. Paul, MN’s Nicholas David. AKA “The Feelin,” David rose to fame in 2012 when featured on NBC’s The Voice, with his unique mix of R&B, soul, New Orleans Rock, Gospel, and Soul.
Krzych said it takes a village to put on this community event and they’re still seeking volunteers. Specifically, starting at 4:30 p.m. to help the artists tear down their booths.
The fine art fair and sale will be on King St. with live performances in the Pump House parking lot, and food trucks and beer garden nearby.
The event is rain or shine. If needed, the performances will be held in the Pump House Theater and the Fine Art Fair & Sale and Interactive Arts will be held on the lower level of the Riverside Municipal Parking Ramp east of the Pump House.
