The father of the woman, whose remains were found in Southern Minnesota this week, has been formally charged with second-degree murder.

Fravel

Adam Fravel’s was charged Friday, appearing in court with bail set at $2 million, or $1 million with conditions that that include no contact with the Kingsbury family.

The 29-year-old would be allowed to have contact with his children if he is released on bail. He remains jailed and it wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney who could comment.

Madeline Kingsbury, who would have turned 27 on June 1, had been missing since March 31. She was last seen with Fravel, dropping their two young kids off at daycare.

Kingsbury’s remains were found Wedneday just north of Mabel, Minn., covered by some brush, just off a gravel road, near Highway 43.

The body was found a few miles from where relatives of Fravel own property, Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge said.

Hours after her body was found, Fravel was arrested.

A criminal complaint said that after a friend reported Kingsbury missing, Fravel told police that they had recently decided to separate and she was seeing someone else. The complaint said a friend of Kingsbury had seen Fravel be violent with her in the past.
