On WIZM, Sen. Johnson says Trump criminal case wouldn’t happen if Biden lost in 2020

According to US Sen. Ron Johnson, if the 2020 election had gone differently, Donald Trump wouldn’t be facing charges over classified documents taken from the White House.

That’s because he’d still be in office and Johnson adds he tried to warn Americans three years ago not to vote for Joe Biden.

Johnson on WIZM’s La Crosse Talk this week said that he and Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley announced evidence of wrongdoing by Biden well before that last election.

Ron Johnson’s interview with Mike Hayes on WIZM’s La Crosse Talk, airing weekdays 6-9 a.m.

“Quite honestly, America should have paid attention when Sen. Grassley and I showed in our report in September 2020, showing the vast financial, foreign financial entanglements of the Bidens,” Johnson told host Mike Hayes. “They should have not elected (Biden), and we wouldn’t be going down this path.”

Johnson said Trump has been “targeted” for prosecution by corrupt federal law officers and the news media.

Meanwhile, Johnson is also thinking about next year’s Senate election in Wisconsin, where Democratic US Sen. Tammy Baldwin is running for a third term.

Only four states have one Democrat and one Republican in the Senate, and Wisconsin is one of them and perhaps the most baffling to political scientists.

If it were up to Johnson, he makes it clear, he’d like another Republican to unseat Baldwin.

“She’s pretty much a rubber stamp vote for Sen. (Chuck) Schumer and Joe Biden, and take a look at that record,” Johnson said, blaming Democrats for growing debt and rising gas prices, among other things.

Republican US House Rep. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin recently announced he would not challenge Baldwin, so it’s likely the Senate race will be a hot topic this weekend during the state Republican Convention at the La Crosse Center.

What an embarrassment to Wisconsin. To think he was re-elected doesn’t say much for the people of Wisconsin.
