UPDATE: Arrest for attempted homicide after downtown La Crosse drive-by shooting; 6 people injured
A 31-year-old Rochester, Minn., man was booked in the La Crosse County jail Saturday for 1st-degree attempted reckless homicide, after a shooting incident in the 100 block of South 3rd Street, downtown.
Deandrew Grant was booked, after what La Crosse Police called a “drive-by shooting” that occurred around bar time Saturday morning between Main and Pearl streets.
At least six people were injured, according to police. Grant faces six potential counts of attempted homicide.
At least one business, Polito’s Pizza, had boards in its doors and windows later in the day on Saturday to replace glass that reportedly had been shattered by gunshots.
People walking on 3rd Street also looked for apparent bullet holes in building walls.
Online court records indicate that Grant had appeared in a La Crosse courtroom during the day Friday on misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Americans are terrible at gun ownership. They prove it to us daily.

Has La Crosse ever had a less responsive administration? Apparently this was a mass shooting event but there has been no meaningful communication from the City two days after the incident.

What time is “bar time”?
