41-year-old Holmen man out on $1,000 bond, after allegedly stabbing victim in neck

A 41-year-old Holmen man could be charged with reckless endangerment for allegedly stabbing someone in the neck during a weekend confrontation.

Michael O’Brien was released from the La Crosse County jail, after posting a $1,000 cash bond.

O’Brien is suspected of injuring the other man at a Mill Street residence Saturday night, during a dispute involving a woman.

The stabbing caused a serious neck wound to the 43-year-old victim.

The La Crosse County District Attorney’s office asked for a $5,000 bond, which Judge Todd Bjerke considered too high.

The judge ordered O’Brien to avoid contact with the victim and have no weapons. O’Brien is expected back in court on Tuesday.
