The 31-year-old Rochester, Minn., who was arrested by La Crosse Police early Saturday, after a drive-by shooting could make an initial court hearing Monday.

Deandrew Grant was jailed for 1st-degree attempted reckless homicide for the 2 a.m. shooting that injured at least six people.

Multiple agencies responded for what La Crosse Police called a “chaotic incident.” Police added that investigative staff believe Grant acted alone. They also recovered a vehicle and handgun.

“Our department has responded to several challenging incidents this past week,” La Crosse Police Chief Shawn Kudron said in a statement. “I appreciate the dedication, compassion and professionalism all staff have shown through these difficult incidents.

“Incidents such as the early morning shooting will have lasting impacts on an entire community. Together we will work for the safety of the entire community.”

Online court records indicate that Grant had appeared in a La Crosse courtroom just hours before the drive-by shooting on misdemeanor charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.
