An Onalaska resident wins a statewide pageant in the Miss America Program.

Seventeen-year-old Trinity Horstman was named Miss Wisconsin’s Teen for 2023, from a field of 19 contestants who competed this weekend in Oshkosh. Horstman competed as Miss Crossing Rivers Teen in the finals on Friday night, and will go on to the national Miss America’s Teen contest. She takes home $2600 in scholarships.

Winning statewide scholarship pageants apparently runs in the Horstman family. Trinity’s sister, Savannah Horstman, held the Miss Wisconsin’s Teen title in 2019 and 2020.

The Miss Wisconsin’s Teen contest is held jointly with the Miss Wisconsin pageant, whose winner moves on to the Miss America contest. The new Miss Wisconsin for this year is Lila Szyryj from Madison, a recent UW-Madison graduate. Finishing third in that contest was Paige Eide of La Crosse, competing as Miss Madison. Jordenne Butler of Onalaska and Ellie Eswein of Tomah also placed in the Top 11 for Miss Wisconsin.
