Wisconsin

One year later, and pro-choice is winning

It is a lesson in being careful what you wish for. Republicans have long sought to overturn the law protecting a women’s right to abortion. Finally, President Trump was able to appoint enough Supreme Court justices during his term to secure the votes to overturn Roe vs. Wade. This past weekend marked one year since that historic ruling. And during that year, democrats have largely benefited while republicans have suffered politically. The abortion issue has become an albatross for Republican candidates. In Wisconsin, liberals gained a majority on the state Supreme Court after Janet Protaswiecz cruised to an easy victory by campaigning to promise to restore a women’s right to an abortion in Wisconsin. In the recent elections, many liberals earned a victory against stronger opponents who favor the Supreme Court ruling. That is because the overwhelming majority of Americans favor a women’s right to abortion. According to the latest polling, 69%, a record high, support a woman’s right to choose. They think the Supreme Court got it wrong, and have become emboldened to support candidates who think whether a woman should get an abortion is not a decision for politicians to make. So even though Republicans got what they longed for in overturning Roe, that court decision is about the only thing to go their way when it comes to restricting abortions.

It’s sad that the Democrat party champions themselves as the “party of death”. No matter how you spin it, abortion is killing a baby. As a Christian I’ve studied a bit of prophecy of the End Times. It’s no surprise that the majority may favor abortion rights, because God has said these will be “dark times” and people will turn from him. But the Good News, is that means Christ’s return is near and evil will be held accountable. My prayer for this country is that many will choose Life. Life everlasting and they will turn away from evil before it is too late.

You are happy that the liberals are winning. You cite a statistic regarding abortion in general but of course fail to mention that the majority of Americans, including those who favor abortion, do not support un-restricted abortion that extends into labor. In the Philadelphia Inquirer was yet another article on how the American public does not trust the media. One should not wonder why. Conspiracy theories would decrease if the media presented the facts and let the chips fall where they may
We have cheapened life in this country and wonder why people kil indiscriminately.
We have a gun problem but much more important we have a MORALITY PROBLEM that will be hard to overcome
