An 8-year-old apparently was knocked out for a short time this weekend, after falling off the roof of a horse-drawn buggy that was parked near a house in Vernon County.

The county sheriff’s office said the boy was playing on the buggy roof in a private driveway, near Viroqua on Friday night, when the horse took off abruptly, and the boy fell to the ground.

Responders were called to the scene, but the child did not need hospital treatment.

Another child was seated in the buggy when the incident happened and apparently was not hurt.
