Mayor Reynolds on legislating through social media, childcare, downtown projects — big boat docks, bikes
Mayor Mitch Reynolds in the WIZM studio Monday for La Crosse Talk PM discussing legislating through social media, what the city is doing about childcare, downtown projects, including boat docks, bike tracks and charging for parking. We also talked a bit about the homeless, new fire stations and La Crosse Center’s management shift.
La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:06 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM / 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska). Find all the podcasts here or subscribe to La Crosse Talk PM wherever you get your podcasts.
Began things, though, talking about the Iola Car Show, after a week away from doing the show, before getting into a conversation about participating in city meetings versus people commenting about city issues on social media.
After that, we talked a bit about the new boat docks that line Riverside Park, when will 2nd Street be straightened out and how much more prevalent will bicycle paths be in the city, and also gave the mayor two cents on charging $1 an hour to park downtown.
Took a couple calls the second half of the show on the homeless situation and on what the city is doing about childcare, as the council has some big legislation to look at for Thursday’s meeting.
Ended with a couple quick hitters on the new La Crosse fires tations and La Crosse Center management.
