Huesmann appointment leaves opening for municipal judge in Onalaska, other towns
New municipal judge needed for much of La Crosse County, after current judge moves up to circuit court
One opening in La Crosse County courts leads to another.
A new municipal court judge is needed for several communities in the county, with the appointment of current Municipal Judge Mark Huesmann to the circuit court.
Candidates interested in the municipal court seat are invited to apply with the city attorney in Onalaska by July 28.
Interviews for the post will be conducted in early August. The person chosen as municipal judge would serve until the April election.
Huesmann will succeed retiring La Crosse Circuit Court Judge Todd Bjerke at the end of this month.
Besides serving Onalaska, the municipal judge for the Coulee Region would also hear cases for Holmen, Bangor, West Salem and the towns of Campbell, Rockland, and Shelby.
