Over 100 planes take off from La Crosse Airport for Oshkosh air show
About 120 private airplanes which gathered at the La Crosse Airport late this week have took to the air in groups of three on Saturday, to head to the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh.
The Bonanzas to Oshkosh group has made La Crosse a meeting point for the last leg to the EAA since 2019, having previously gathered for decades in Rockford, Illinois.
Spectators lined up at fences near the Colgan Air buildings on Saturday morning to watch as the planes rose into the sky, headed toward the eastern side of Wisconsin.
Most of the pilots arrived in La Crosse on Friday to prepare for the large departure around noon on Saturday.
