Come to La Crosse, and if you can’t get here, the city could set up a video feed
Surveillance cameras seem to be everywhere, but La Crosse could get a video camera to be used to show everyday life in the city to people in other countries.
The city’s international committee has discussed setting up a camera that would show daily activity at locations such as the riverfront or in Riverside Park.
The livestream could become a part of the local tourism effort, along with La Crosse’s sister city program.
The idea has been tried in Friedberg, Germany, which is La Crosse’s sister city.
Meanwhile, after the interruption of the pandemic, travel is getting back to normal around the world, which is good news for La Crosse and its sister cities.
A delegation from La Crosse is scheduled to visit the Irish sister city of Bantry in October.
The international committee was told Monday that La Crosse residents have not officially visited Bantry on exchange trips since before COVID.
On the other hand, the French city of Epinal reportedly is cancelling an exchange visit to La Crosse for the first time since the 1980s, due to a lack of funding.
La Crosse has seven foreign sister cities, including in Russia, China, Norway and Cameroon.

It looks like Mitch want to have servants on the people down town. May be Mitch could give out more parking tickets. If you are in town the man is always watching you, kind of seems like china.
