Excessive speed leads to crash near Genoa
A 68-year-old Genoa man lost control of his vehicle Thursday afternoon on Highway 56, crashing it into a guardrail.
“Excessive speed” appears to be the main factor for John Raymond crashing his BMW, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
And, while the car appears in rough shape, Raymond came away with just minor injuries, as he was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags deployed. No other vehicles were involved.
He was traveling west on Highway 56 near Venner Hollow Road, east of Genoa. His car came to a stop in the eastbound lane in front of Steve’s Country Meats.
In a news release from Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson, no information was provided on whether Raymond received a citation.
